Exploring Our Health Care Values

During this two-part workshop, we will discover our own health care values, uncovering what is important to us. We will learn how to start the conversation with our families and Substitute Decision Makers about our wishes, so that they are able to speak with our voice if we cannot speak for ourselves.

Fatigue Management Information Seminar

Fatigue is a common symptom and side effect experienced by people with cancer, whether in or out of treatment. This seminar will explore fatigue, and provide strategies to help you cope with it as you deal with cancer, and beyond.

This session is offered by Stephanie Burlein-Hall.  Stephanie is a registered nurse with over 35 years of oncology nursing and education experience.  Most recently Stephanie worked in the symptom management program at the Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre.  In addition to being a Hearth Place volunteer, Stephanie is also a cancer survivor.

How Naturopathy May Support Your Cancer Journey

Join us for an overview of the role that Naturopathic Medicine may play in the world of cancer. Naturopathy does not replace traditional medical treatments, but may work alongside them to help us feel better as we live with cancer and beyond.

Lymphedema Information Seminars

We are excited to be offering ongoing seminars on lymphedema with Heather Cirone, CDT.  Topics include exercises for lymphedema management, the importance of stretching, breathing and posture, as well as lower limb lymphedema, and self-massage.

This presentation will discuss ways to have more effective meetings with your health care team.  Good communication is very important in cancer care.  This is open to all members and their families and caregivers.
